Urbanization - Amusement Parks and Circuses
I have decided to research the uprising of Amusement Parks and Circuses, such as Coney Island, during Urbanization. This topic struck and interest in me as I recently saw The Greatest Showman movie and thought it was an amazing production and story. Obviously, as leisure time was increasing, people could spend more time doing activities that were enjoyable and entertaining. Though circuses were becoming popular in more rural areas, there was always the connection to the urban city an establishments there as amusement parks also gained popularity. Coney Island became a big hit in New York as a whole new idea for fun that was so interesting to all the people. This unique form of entertainment and fun that arose in industries during an important time of urbanization for the United States had a large role in how people began to spend their time and dream bigger dreams.
